WEIRTON - The American Legion Post 10 Auxiliary held its monthly meeting at the post on Pennsylvania Avenue.
Prior to the business meeting, three Weirton teens gave a short presentation on the Rhodendron Girls State program. They included Serra Alongi, Ann Mastricostos and Kristen Mastertonia. Amy Davis was unable to attend, but sent a card, which Clara Robinson, secretary, read.
During the business meeting, Chaplain Wanda Perrone gave the invocation.
The legion's family picnic will be held Sunday, and auxiliary members were asked to bring desserts, help in the kitchen and assist with bingo calling. Gloria Jerrell will donate a basket, and Loretta Fabian will fix a "basket of cheer" for the picnic.
Robinson will choose a child from St. Joseph the Worker School to represent Miss Poppy.
Wanda Perrone and Shirley Brecht served refreshments. Gloria Jerrell won the 50/50 drawing.
Perrone gave the closing prayer.
