HAYES, Anna Mae, 83, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at her home.
She was born Feb. 8, 1929, in Toronto, Ohio, the daughter of the late Rudolph F. and Freda A. Foringer Wirth.
Anna was a member of the North River Avenue Christian Church of Toronto and the Toronto Senior Citizens.
She retired as a nurse's aid and ward clerk at the former Ohio Valley Hospital of Steubenville.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold E. Hayes in 2000, whom she married June 22, 1946; and daughters Marcia Hayes in 1960, Lois "Cleo" Hughes in 2009 and Janelle Hayes in 2009.
She is survived by her daughters, Robin (Jim) Shimmel of Toronto, Ohio, and Vickie Hayes-Mihalik of Lakeland, Florida; grandchildren Eric Hughes of Richmond, Ohio, Daniel Hughes of New Philadelphia, Ohio, James Shimmel, Jr. of Toronto, Ohio, and Megan Shimmel of Wintersville, Ohio; great-grandchildren Brayden Hughes and Noah Koniski; and brother William Wirth of Beaver, Pennsylvania; and son-in-law Bob Hughes of Wintersville, Ohio.
As per Anna's wishes there will be no visitation hours or services.
