Robbie Smedley

SMEDLEY, Robbie E., 44, of Bloomingdale, OH, returned home to be reunited with loved ones on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, surrounding by the beauty of outdoors.

Robbie was born on March 11, 1968, at Prince George County, MD. He was the son of Donna (Clark) Smedley-Freeland and the late William R. Smedley.

Robbie worked for Jefferson County Court House in Data Processing as a computer technician. He served in the United States Army. Robbie enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and hunting, but most of all he had great love for his wife and children.

In addition to his father, Robbie was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arthur E. Smedley; an infant brother; and two great uncles, Lee Carte and Ray Carte.

Robbie is survived by his loving wife, Tammy (Markle) Smedley of Bloomingdale, OH, whom he married on July 12, 1996; their twin children, William A. Smedley and Amber M Smedley, both residing at home; a brother, Roy (Shannon) Smedley of Watsontown, PA; three sisters, Leela (John) Amuso, of Wellsburg, WV, Robyn (Eric) Bless of Tennessee, and Lori (Mickie) Leas of Mingo Junction, OH; a caring grandmother, Myrtle Smedley of Follansbee, WV; a great aunt, Maxie DiPalma of Steubenville, OH; a great uncle, Richard Smedley of Arkansas; an aunt, Sandy (Mike) Smedley-Jablonski of Hookstown, PA; a mother and father-in-law, Helen and Kenneth Markle of Paris, PA; a sister-in-law, Lisa Markle and fiance Dave Renner of Weirton, WV; two brother-in-law, Tim (Anise) Markle of Blairsville, PA and Todd (Kambrea) Markle of Weirton, WV; and several aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews and cousins.

Robbie's prior request will be honored by his family through a simple cremation.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, from 7 p.m. until time of Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church, 101 Lisa Court, Weirton, WV, with Reverend Tim Conrad, officiating

Cremation and Celebration of Life Services are under the direction and care of the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV.
