Brooke wins tri-match

WELLSBURG - Brooke senior Austin Schambach earned medalist honors with a 76 Tuesday at Highland Springs Golf Course as the Bruins (323) defeated Madonna (335) and John Marshall (475).

Also for Brooke, Logan Lojszczyk shot 79 and Cody Dodd and Brice Hickey each had an 84.

Michael Rogers led Madonna with a 78. Thomas Gianni carded an 83 and Nick Mazur and Matt Lyons an 87 each.

For John Marshall, Malik Jordan shot 100, Colin Griffith a 114, Travis Strait a 130 and Garrett Ingram a 131.

Panthers to sell tickets

RAYLAND - The Buckeye Local Athletic Department will sell football season ticket packages and all-sports passes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 15 in the high athletic office and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at World War II Memorial Stadium during the scrimmage with Oak Glen on Aug. 16.

Those holding tickets last year will be given preference and must be picked up on one of those dates or tickets will be put on sale on a first come basis. Reserved seats are $7 per game ($35 total).

All-sports passes for all non-tournament athletic events are $100 (adults), $50 students (grades 7-12) and $40 (seniors).

Weir selling football tickets

WEIRTON - Weir High will sell football season tickets from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. through Friday at the high school office and athletic office.

Reserved seats are in Sections 3 and 4, adjacent to the 50-yard line. Each section has 19 rows, from A-S. All access to the seats is from the bottom. There are more than 600 reserved seats available.

After noon on Monday, any previously held reserved seat that is not purchased will go on sale to the public.

Toronto boosters to meet

TORONTO - The Toronto Booster Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the Toronto Titan building. Anyone wishing to join is encouraged to attend the meeting. Plans for the upcoming fall sports will be discussed.

Panthers to sponsor bus

RAYLAND - The Buckeye Local School District will sponsor a booster bus to the season- opening football game at 7 p.m. on Aug. 24 at Utica High School. The bus will leave the high school at approximately 4 p.m. The school district will operate on a two-hour early dismissal to accommodate players, band members and fans.

Cost is $10 and includes the price of admission. All elementary students must have a chaperone. If needed, the bus will be canceled due to lack of interest.

There are no pre-sale tickets for this game. Tickets at the gate are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Crusaders' season tickets on sale

STEUBENVILLE - Season tickets for the Steubenville Catholic Central football season are on sale from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m in the school cafeteria today and Thursday.

'Skins selling football tickets, passes

WINTERSVILLE - Indian Creek football season tickets and student athletic passes are on sale in the athletic department. Season tickets are $25 per seat. The student athletic pass is $35.

PAC to hold cookout

STEUBENVILLE - The Polish Athletic Club will hold a cookout beginning at 6 p.m. Friday at the pavilion.
