An evening out in the country promises a night of relaxation, pampering, music, refreshments and surprises for women attending the second-annual Girls Night Out sponsored by the American Red Cross Jefferson County Chapter.
"Paint the Country Red" is the theme of the chapter's fundraiser event that will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Brandywine Inn, Toronto, weather permitting.
For $35 per person, patrons will enjoy a light menu of sandwiches, cheeses and crackers, fruits and vegetables, chocolates and other sweet treats, according to Kathy Musso, chapter executive director, and Trish Maple, hostess. Sangria, Dreamsicles, champagne, soda and iced tea also are included and will be served by Red Cross celebrity waiters Jim Conrad, John Cucarese, Ken Perkins and Dave Maple.
A silent auction of designer purses will be conducted with their contents containing mystery items that run the gamut from beauty products and an overnight stay at Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Gaming Resort to jewelry, perfume and more.
Patrons will receive a goodie bag and their own pink and white tie-dyed shirt that they can personalize that evening while they receive a Mary Kay cosmetic satin hand treatment by Janet Mayle; nail painting by Tracie Blevins of A Nails Charm; or a neck massage by George Komar, massage therapist.
"This is a great evening to come out and relax with friends, family and co-workers," Musso said.
Valet parking is provided.
Reservations with a credit card can be made by calling (740) 264-7244. Those planning to attend should order early as space is limited, according to Musso. Tickets are $40 at the door.
