National Kids Day will be observed on Sunday in communities across the country, and Brooke Hills Park is among the locations holding activities for this celebration of kids and family.
The day itself was created by nonprofit organization KidsPeace, which is aimed at helping to avoid neglect, trauma and crises, in an effort to encourage families to spend more time together.
Spending time as a family is important for all of us, but especially for younger kids in need of guidance and a strong support structure.
Events at Brooke Hills will include the annual cardboard boat race, the Duck Pluck contest, swimming at the park's pool and free refreshments. We're sure there will be lots of fun for everyone in attendance, especially for the kids.
Or, perhaps you would just like to take the time to walk around the park itself and see what else it has to offer.
Even if you are not able to make it to the National Kids Day activities at Brooke Hills, we encourage you all to take the opportunity to spend time with your family, whether you have a picnic, go to the zoo, catch a sporting event or just plan for an activity around the home.
