The Smithfield Legion Post 396 Auxiliary is having a dance Friday from 8 p.m. to midnight at the hall.
The cost is $5 for a couple and $3 for singles.

The Steubenville High School Class of 1951 has canceled plans for a reunion Aug.31-Sept. 1 due to a lack of response.
Seniors gear up
for annual picnic
Doris Matyas presided at the Toronto Senior Citizens meeting July 26 for members and five guests. Mary Alice Meyer gave the blessing for the covered-dish dinner and led in opening ceremonies.
Entertainment was provided by Kent Leasure, Ted Mason, Peggy DeSantis and Laura Thrasher with songs for the seniors.
Reports were given by Rosemary Bonofine, Joyce Dobbs and Shirley Rebich.
Lola Swanagan updated members on future trips.
The club picnic will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Stratton Park.
The 50/50 was won by Richard Dobbs. Cathy Grimes and Joyce Dobbs won the door prizes. Bingo winners were Irene Miller, Dorothy Farrister, Paul Koltz and Elvira Mihalik.
Birthdays and anniversaries were acknowledged.
Scat winners were Sharon and Bob Carroll, Jane and Huck Hanuscin, Joyce Dobbs and Laura Mamula.
Forever Young Senior Camp set
The 17th-annual Forever Young Senior Camp, with the theme "The Roaring 20s," is being held Aug. 7-9 at the Hancock County Senior Wellness Center located at 647 Gas Valley Road, New Manchester.
Registration and brunch will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 7. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. daily, and dinner will be served at 5 p.m. daily.
The event will include crafts, camp fire, cosmic bingo, tournaments and daily prizes. Aug. 8 will be a "dress-up day."
The cost is $15 for Hancock County and Weirton residents and $25 for out-of-county participants.
The one-day cost is $10. The fee includes all meals, entertainment and activities. Transportation will be provided to and from the center for Hancock County residents.

Nora Bell will share recipes for peanut butter lovers at 11 a.m. Aug. 11 at the Brooke County Public Library located in Wellsburg.
Bell has presented many cooking programs at the library and is known for creativity in developing a variety of dishes.
