STEUBENVILLE -- City Council members heard from a number of city residents Tuesday night urging the officials to keep the unofficial city logo and fight legal threats by the Freedom from Religion Foundation of Madison, Wisconsin.

Mayor Domenick Mucci announced city leaders will review offers of legal help and all other options before making a decision on the logo.

Mucci also stressed the city council never officially adopted the logo but has used it informally.

During the regular meeting the City Council agreed to bring two ordinances out of the Finance Committee and approved appropriations and a tax budget for the remainder of the year.

The council also approved a proposed tax budget for the 2013 fiscal year during the regular meeting Tuesday night.

A second reading was heard during the meeting for a new employee table of organization.

And third readings were heard and approved by the council on renaming the city's FEMA fund to the Emergency Management Fund as well as legislation expanding the Steel Valley Regional Transit Authority to include the village of Wintersville.

Read the Wednesday edition of The Herald-Star for all the details from the City Council meeting.
