TRY Community of Churches will hold its third-annual Family Fun Night at the Warren Township Pool from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
There will be free admission to the pool along with free food, drinks and ice cream. Prizes will be awarded, and there will be a disc jockey providing music.
Preparing for the event are, above, from left, the Rev. Tom Thomas, pastor of Rayland and Yorkville United Methodist churches; Tammy Morelle, mayor of Rayland; Tina Witers, park commission representative; the Rev. Dan Holt, pastor of Tiltonsville United Methodist Church; Shirley Dietrich, president of the TRY Community of Churches; and Karen Motto, park commission representative.
TRY is an acronym for Tiltonsville, Rayland and Yorkville, bringing together Tiltonsville, Rayland and Yorkville United Methodist churches, St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Tiltonsville, St. Lucy's Catholic Church in Yorkville, Tiltonsville Tabernacle, Meadowbrook Church of God in Rayland and Rush Run Community Chapel.
The group does several community projects throughout the year at the Warren Township Park.
"At our family fun night, we offer free admission to the pool, free food, prizes and have a DJ," Holt said. "We normally have around 400."
