For more than 20 years, the Wheeling Symphony has been taking its act on the road, bringing its performances to area communities to entertain residents of all ages.
On Tuesday, what has become a tradition in Weirton for the Independence Day holiday will continue as Wheeling Symphony Live makes its return for the annual community concert to take place at the Weirton Event Center.
The concert is set to begin at 7 p.m., but everyone is always encouraged to get there early, especially since the show has a new location. Also, be sure to take a lawn chair, as there is no seating available at the center.
Each year, the Wheeling Symphony, currently under the direction of Andre Raphel, brings a unique mix of orchestral and vocal musical talents together to offer a great selection of patriotic standards to help celebrate America's birthday. Each year draws a crowd of hundreds and we're certain this year will be no different.
As always, Wheeling Symphony Live is being brought to Weirton through the efforts of the Weirton Community Foundation and the support of local sponsors. We thank those at the foundation for all their hard work in organizing this wonderful event for the Weirton area.
We also would like to thank the members of the Wheeling Symphony for visiting our communities and for always putting on an outstanding performance.
So, if you enjoy listening to the Wheeling Symphony, or if you are just looking for something to do Tuesday night, we encourage you to go to the Weirton Event Center and enjoy the music.
