CHILLICOTHE - Steubenville Legion Post 33 finished second in the Chillicothe Tournament Saturday afternoon after dropping a 6-2 decision to Piqua at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Post 33 held a 2-0 lead after the third inning, but Piqua came back with one in the fourth, one in the fifth and four in the sixth for the tournament title.
JoJo Pierro took the loss. He struck out two and walked four in 5 innings. Justin Corsi finished on the hill.
Brenton Colabella and Aleks Porreca each had a single, double and RBI for Steubenville. Alex Young added two singles, Jim Panella a double and Bryan Pierro and Josh Merriman a single each.
Panalla tossed a three-hitter in the semifinal game, a 4-0 victory over Zanesville in the morning.
Colabella had a double and three RBIs in the victory. JoJo Pierro added a double and two singles, Young a double and single, Porreca a single and RBI and Panella and Steve Mihalyo each collected a single.
Post 33 scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to secure the win.
Steubenville visits St. Clairsville Tuesday and the hosts Richmond (Wednesday) and Toronto (Thursday). All games are 6 p.m. starts.
