honors fathers
The House of Prayer Church on Riddles Run Road near Brilliant honored fathers at its annual Father's Day service with small gifts presented to all fathers and special acknowledgements for the following:
The church will meet Sunday at Sally Buffalo Park for an all-day picnic and baptism.
The church also is planning a July 4 picnic at the church followed by fireworks on the church grounds. There will be games for all ages. Participants are asked to bring a covered dish to share.
Plans are in the works for an outing to the Pittsburgh Zoo.
Recording artist
at Weirton church
Dennis Benton, a national recording artist, will perform live in concert at 10 a.m. Sunday at Marland Heights Community Church, 3900 Bright Way, Weirton, and at 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Steubenville.
Harmony hosting
special study
Harmony United Methodist Church in Mingo Junction is hosting an eight-week study of the Revelation called "Breaking the Code" by Bruce Metzger.
The study begins July 1.
Pastor Sam Davis also will be sharing weekly messages based on the scriptures from the Revelation that are covered in the study each week. Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays with the Bible study following, beginning at approximately 10:45 a.m.
All are invited to attend either or both.

Two Ridges hosts
weekly luncheons
Two Ridges Presbyterian Church, 1085 Canton Road, Wintersville, has luncheons every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. that are open to the public.
The menu for this Thursday is ham and green beans with dumplings, cottage cheese with peaches, chocolate cake and lemon cake. The monthly menu can be viewed on line at www.tworidges.org
There is no charge but donations are appreciated.
POW Ministry

The Habitation of God's Glory meeting, sponsored by the POW Ministry, will be held June 29-30 at 7 p.m. both days.
The meetings are held at the River Christian Fellowship Church, 183 Nesley St., Empire.
The speaker/singer will be prophetess Dianne Palmer, a singer who has traveled "to many nations."
