To the editor:
I just finished reading the June 17 guest column "Chesapeake Energy: Why DeWine should step in" by Sandy Buchanan. I had to laugh when the tag line at the end of the column identified Buchanan as being the executive director of the "nonpartisan" Ohio Citizen Action group. I went back to make sure I read that correctly. Yup, sure enough, it said "nonpartisan," all right.
Even though I knew what I would find - I'm perceptive that way - I went to the Ohio Citizen Action Web site. Funny ... the organization seems to support every wacko environmental cause out there these days. They are against fracking for oil and gas, they don't like coal and they give awards every year to their favorite community activist from the state. What a shock they would come out with a hit piece against Chesapeake. If they are nonpartisan then I'm a monkey's uncle.
Oh, for anyone interested in the true meaning of words, the definition of nonpartisan is: 1. not partisan; objective. 2. not supporting or controlled by a political party, special interest group, or the like.
Stop writing hit pieces on behalf of Ohio Citizen Action, Ms. Buchanan, unless you start telling the truth about the biases and predisposition to support liberal causes that you and Ohio Citizen Action hold.
P.S. - I have zero affiliation with Chesapeake Energy. I'm just a citizen of Ohio.
