Museum opening in Unionport
The Old Timers reunion and museum opening will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Wayne Township Community Center, the old Unionport school.
The event will include food for sale, children's games and music provided by the Vinyl Classics.
On display will be a variety of items, including town maps, military memorabilia and school memorabilia reflective of Hopedale, Unionport and Wayne high schools.
In addition to now having a museum area, the center has a meeting room and also is a host site for Prime Time on Aging meals.
The exhibit showcasing history of Unionport and the surrounding area will be ongoing and expanded as donations or lent items are received.
The Wayne Township Community Center Inc., the old Unionport school, is located on county Road 39 in Unionport. It is operated by volunteers.
SHS alumni
group to meet
The Steubenville High School Alumni Association will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Scaffidi's Restaurant.
New member for
Toronto group
Judy Bickler was welcomed as a new member when the Toronto Senior Citizens met June 14.
Doris Matyas presided at the meeting where Jim and Dorothy Kliner and Don and Becky Swickard were welcomed as guests.
Reports were given by Joyce Dobbs and Donna Whorley.
The 50/50 was won by Joyce Dobbs. Mary Koth won the door prize. Bingo winners were Linda Dye, Dee Fouts, Arlene and Bob Zahniser, Irma Straka and Mary Koth.
Lola Swanagan updated the group on trips. The next one is July 24, an outing to the Riverside Theater and shopping at Grove City. Departure time is at approximately 9 a.m.
Scat winners were Bickler and Richard Dobbs.
The next meeting will be June 28 at the Roosevelt Building.
Brooke Class of '77 plans event
The Brooke High School Class of 1977 is planning an informal get-together July 7 at Staffileno's on the River in Wellsburg.
There will be hors d'oeuvres at 7:30 p.m and a DJ at 9:30 p.m.

The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced the following programs at its branches:
-- Enjoy a professional puppet show with Mr. Puppet on Tuesday at Toronto, 11 a.m.; Schiappa, 1:30 p.m.; and Brilliant, 4 p.m.; and on June 28 at Adena, 11 a.m.; Dillonvale, 1:30 p.m.; and Tiltonsville, 4 p.m.
