Motorcyclist flown following accident

STEUBENVILLE - A motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital by medical helicopter following an accident on U.S. Route 22 near state Route 7 at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

Other details weren't available from Saturday evening from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, which was called to investigate.

Road work announced

The West Virginia Division of Highways has announced minor road work to be performed this week, pending suitable weather.

In Hancock County, crews will be repairing a slip along state Route 2 between Congo Road and Newell and patching Willow and Oak streets, Crummitt Lane, Marks Run, Stewart Run and Smith roads; Marilyn and Russell lanes, Glen Elm and Fox Run roads, Mount Royal Boulevard and Clifford Street. They will be ditching along Sixth Street in Newell and Arner Road in Chester and mowing along many roads.

In Brooke County, crews will be patching Harmon Creek, Holidays Cove/McKims Ridge and Hukill Run/Windy Hill roads and pulling shoulders and ditches along Eldersville Road.

Library board to meet Tuesday

WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Library Board will meet at noon Tuesday in the library's Elmer Vincent Meeting Room.
