ANKROM Sr., Wilford L., 66, of Bloomingdale, Ohio, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Trinity West after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Claysville, Pa., on Feb. 13, 1946, a son of the late James V. and Dora Shrader Ankrom. Wilford had worked at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel as a backhoe operator.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Wilford is survived by sons Wilford L. Ankrom, Jr. of Smithfield, Ohio, and David (Jodi) Ankrom of Dillonvale, Ohio; two grandchildren Kayla and Samantha; former wife Kathie Ankrom of Bloomingdale; brothers Manuel (Darlene) Ankrom of Virginia, Daniel (Shirley) Ankrom of Maryland and Herbert (Marlene) Ankrom of Utah; sisters Dora Lynch of Pennsylvania, Elaine (Myron) Harr of Maryland, Mae (Fred) Sylvestri of Ohio, Cena DeShong of Ohio and Lucy Downs of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, on Monday from 10 a.m. until services at noon. Burial at Bloomingdale Cemetery.
