CHARLESTON - Madonna senior Logan Linder will take the mound about 7:30 tonight for a West Virginia Class A state baseball semifinal.

When he takes the hill, it will be about 24 hours after originally scheduled to do so at Appalachian Power Park.

Rain fell most of Friday, postponing action for a day.

The Class AA semifinals will begin at 10 a.m. with the Class A semifinal between Weirton Madonna and Charleston Catholic hitting the field at approximately 7:30 p.m.

All championship games will be played Sunday, with the Class AAA contest beginning at 1 p.m. The Class AA final will be approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of that game and the Class A title tilt about 45 minutes after the end of the Class AA contest.

"We had an idea driving down today that today's game probably wasn't going to happen," said Blue Dons coach Jeff Baire, whose team is 23-9. "We were watching the storm come up from the south andx it looked like the rain was never going to end.

"Our plan for tomorrow is about the same as it was for today. We will go to West Virginia State and get in a practice, either inside or outside, although I am guessing we will be outside. We'll come back to do the same thing, get a bite to eat about 3 and then head over to the park and watch East Hardy and Valley-Fayette play at 5.

"My wife and I got to enjoy our 16th anniversary today, which was nice.

"The only difference for the players was that they were able to go swimming tonight. They were happy about that."
