CADIZ - The Steubenville Legion Post 33 baseball team opened its season with a 4-2 win at Cadiz Thursday.
Josh Malesky picked up the win on the hill for Steubenville. Steve Mihalyo was the big bat for the victors, picking up a triple, single and three RBIs on the day. Brenton Colabella knocked in a run with a double, while Aleks Porreca and Kyle Laukert each had a double and a single. Alex Young had a single as well for Steubenville.
Rasheen Mitchell had a triple and an RBI for Cadiz, with Ike Bailey and B.J. Buzby each adding a single.
Post 33 (1-0) hosts St. Clairsville today and a welcomes Coshocton Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
