'Men in Black 3'

party planned

Carmike Cinema 6 in the Fort Steuben Mall, Steubenville, will be having a "Men in Black 3" premier party on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

"The community is invited to come out and spin the prize wheel for their chance to win "Men in Black 3" promotional items and movie passes," a theater spokesman said.

Moviegoers attending the "Men in Black 3" feature opening weekend are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite alien for a chance to be entered in a prize drawing.

'The Muppets' coming to library

The Brooke County Public Library in Wellsburg will show "The Muppets," rated PG, on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The film involves Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, and his friends who uncover a diabolical plot to destroy the Muppet Theater. Quickly, they must reunite Kermit and his fuzzy friends to stage the greatest Muppet telethon ever and save their beloved theater.

50-year class reunion Aug. 18

Warren Consolidated High School Class of 1962 will be holding its 50-year reunion on Aug. 18 at the VFW in Yorkville.

Car wash to

benefit playhouse

Cast and crew from Brooke Hills Playhouse in Wellsburg will be holding a car wash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Advance Auto Parks on state Route 2 in Wellsburg to defray the costs for its upcoming production of "Peter Pan." The cost is by donation.

No Country Friends Monday

Country Friends has canceled the Monday meeting at the Memorial Hall located at 402 Old Police Lodge Road, Colliers, to be resumed after the Memorial Day holiday.

The Friday jam session and Saturday dance featuring Art Beal's Country Tradition band, however, is not affected. The doors open at 5 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday. The dance starts at 7 p.m. This is a covered-dish event on Friday, and the public is invited to attend and participate.

Country Friends Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Christianity, friendship and brotherly love through music.

All proceeds go to charity.
