Steubenville American Legion Auxiliary Unit 33 has announced its delegates and alternate for 2012 Buckeye Girls State.
They are Lauren Haines, Catholic Central High School delegate; Carly Moro, Steubenville High School delegate; and Madelina Miller, CCHS alternate.
Buckeye Girls State will be held June 10-16 on the campus of the University of Mount Union. Participants learn citizenship, patriotism and the love of God and country as they participate in mock government activities, running for city, county and state offices and gaining first-hand knowledge of the political process.
The Ohio American Legion Auxiliary has been a sponsor of Buckeye Girls State for 65 years.
