Things to look at when voting

May 20, 2012
The Herald-Star

To the editor:

This coming November, U.S. voters will be making a decision for a new president or retaining our present one. If you are planning on voting for Obama you will be voting for the following:

You believe that all Americans should be forced to buy health insurance.

You believe that Big Labor is better than Big Business. No paycheck vs. paycheck.

You believe in more government, not less, and that we need some 32 czars that are unelected and being payed with your tax dollars.

You think that more of your tax dollars need to go to education and entitlement programs, programs that are billions in the red, but we need to cut our military and defense, the one thing that government is required by our Constitution to provide for.

You believe that our country is no better than any other country.

You think it's OK to lie to the American citizenry.

You agree that the Constitution of the United States is an old document, and that individualism and freedom need to be replaced by the collective and restrictions.

You believe that Congress isn't needed, and the president can just go around them by signing execution orders.

You think that U.S. fossil fuels and natural resources need to be regulated out of existence and that we should use taxpayer money to finance companies for these fuels and resources from countries such as Venezuela, Brazil and the Middle East.

You believe that the First Amendment right concerning religion doesn't belong to Catholics and people of faith.

The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) requires the coverage of contraception, and includes abortion, something that Obama and HHS is not talking about. The next step is allowing a born alive, aborted baby to die, something Obama saw nothing wrong with when he was a senator from Illinois.

There are many more that you can research yourself, but these are some facts you can use when voting.
