BURDETTE, Michael M.., 54, of Follansbee, W.Va., died suddenly Monday, May 13, 2012, at his home.

Born on Aug. 9, 1957, in Weirton, W.Va., Mike was a son of Eugene and Norma Cumblidge Burdette of Weirton.

A 1976 graduate of Weir High, Mike was a 27 year employee of Hancock County Schools, where he worked as a custodian. Prior to joining the school system, Mike worked nine years at the former Baron Chevrolet.

He loved the outdoors, whether it be hunting turkey or planting a garden. He was a member of the Colliers Sportsman Club, and the Northern Panhandle Trappers Association.

Surviving in addition to his parents include his loving wife, Renie Newbrough Burdette, whom he married on Aug. 2, 2002; three sons, Michael Gray (Yolanda) of Mingo Junction, Ohio; Michael Burdette of Pennsylvania, and Nicholas Burdette of Follansbee, W.Va.; four daughters, Ive Burdette of Weirton, W.Va., Kayla, Megan, and Ashley Smith all of Follansbee, W.Va.; two brothers, Paul (Amanda) and Eric (Jennifer) Burdette all of Weirton, W.Va.; a sister, Penny Monczynski (Jim) of Buffalo, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Frankielee Burdette, Jasanna Williams, Aireonna and Avah Gray.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, W.Va., where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Marvin Taylor will preside.
