Endrich to retire from Weirton Medical Center

WEIRTON - Weirton Medical Center announced late Friday the retirement of Dr. Joseph Endrich.

The Board of Directors of Weirton Medical Center issued a statement that Endrich, chief executive officer of the Weirton Medical Center, would retire effective immediately.

Endrich has served as the CEO since 2003. Prior to that, he was an Internist on the Medical Staff of the Weirton Medical Center since 1986.

In March of this year, the Board of Directors of the Weirton Medical Center hired the consulting firm of R & V Associates of Pittsburgh to provide strategic direction and consulting services for the hospital. In cooperation with that firm, Charles M. O'Brien, Jr. will serve as the Interim CEO of the Weirton Medical Center. O'Brien is a former president and CEO of the West Penn Allegheny Health System.

R & V Associates is a firm that has specialized in returning hospitals to financial and clinical strength including its successful engagement by Wheeling Hospital since 2006.
