MASLOWSKI, Frank, 90, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012, in the Weirton Medical Center.
Born Oct. 4, 1921, in Weirton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Frances Stanisz Maslowski.
He was also preceded in death by his wife Stephanie Rurak Maslowski who died March 17, 2007, and whom he married Aug. 29, 1944; brothers Mike, Stanley, Theodore and Pete Maslowski and sisters Eleanor Fairbanks, Josephine Lewis and Marguerita DiDonato.
With 38 years of service, Mr. Maslowski retired from Weirton Steel where he was a certified welder in the welding shop. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, WSX 25-Year Club, Paris Sportsman's Club and V.F.W. 2716. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Frank is survived by his son Robert M. Maslowski and his wife Susan of Milton, W.Va.; daughter Barbara M. Maslowski of Aliso Viejo, Calif., 22 nieces and nephews and 18 grand- nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday 6-8 p.m. at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, W.Va. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Father Manuel Gelido officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton, with military services being conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard.
