WELLSBURG - The Brooke baseball team had its season come to an end Thursday in an 8-2 loss at home to John Marshall in the West Virginia Class AAA Region 1, Section 1 double-elimination tournament.
The Monarchs must now defeat Wheeling Park twice to advance.
John Marshall, which lost 10-2 to the Patriots in the conclusion of Wednesday's game that was called due to rain, scored four times in the second and fourth in the fifth to advance.
The Bruins finished 14-17.
Steven Jeffries collected two singles, Heath Hildreth one and Nick Breen added an RBI.
