TACZAK, Michael, 86, of Amsterdam, passed away Monday evening, May 7, 2012, at his home following an extended illness.
A son of the late George and Julia Budinski Taczak, he was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Ray, Pa.
Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Amsterdam VFW, United Mine Workers, and All Saints Orthodox Church in Wolf Run.
Along with his wife, the former Margaret Redovian, he is survived by two sons, Terry (Susie) Taczak of Florida and Mike (Terri) Taczak of Amsterdam; a daughter, Mary Ann (Tom) Carroll of Louisville; nine grandchildren, David, Kara, Joey, Julie, Holly, Erin, Travis, Michael, Samatha; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Lemoyne Michael; two brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 11, 2012, at 10 a.m. in All Saints Orthodox Church in Wolf Run with Fr. George Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the All Saints Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam. Parastas services will be at 8:30 p.m.
