BV Residents plan
garage sale
The Buena Vista Residents 2012 schedule of events includes a busy spring, summer and fall, not to mention a logo bearing the theme "Neighbors Helping Neighbors."
The next meeting will be held Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the basement of the Buena Vista United Methodist Church on Kingston Avenue, Steubenville, with a special guest speaker set to discuss gardening. Those attending are asked to bring a favorite appetizer to share.
The monthly recycle pickup will be held Thursday with items to be placed at curbside by noon for pickup by volunteers between noon and 4 p.m. Plastics and cans can be combined but paper and plastic should not be mixed. Paper should be bundled in paper bags or cardboard. The pickup is not for glass or Styrofoam.
The key May event will be a neighborhood garage sale on May 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants will hold their sales at their own homes with the BV Residents group handling advertising and placing a balloon at each participating residence. Those wanting to participate should call (740) 264-7871 to sign up ahead of time and be placed on the list.
A schedule of events circulated throughout the BV neighborhood notes the Buena Vista Residents "is a group that includes the entire subdivision. We have social gatherings that allow us to get to know each other so that we can all look out for each other. If you can't make it to the meetings, please come and enjoy the functions that we hold. We also collect money to donate to various charities in the community. This year, by request, we will have various speakers at the meetings, and we have food. Don't be shy - come and meet your fellow neighbors."
