CARTER, Alice L., 84, of East Springfield, OH., passed away April 30, 2012, at the Laurels of Steubenville.
She was born Jan. 27, 1928, in Tiltonsville, OH, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Ethel (Jackson) DeVault.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles "Bob" Chastain Sr.; second husband, Andrew Slater; and third husband, Henry Carter Sr.; grandson, Donnie Robinson; brother, James DeVault; and sisters, Dorothy Geissler and Mary Ramsey.
Alice was Methodist by faith and a member of East Springfield Senior Citizens.
Alice is survived by her son, Charles (Valerie) Chastain Jr. of Richmond; two daughters, both of Pismo Beach, CA, Kathryn (Ken) Lindsay and Mary Jean Jackson; brother, Dale (Esther) DeVault of Great Falls, MT; sister, Margie Jackson of Richmond; five grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at East Springfield Cemetery.
