WELLSBURG - The Brooke baseball team broke open a 3-3 game with four runs in the fourth and five in the fifth en route to a 12-4 win over visiting Weir Tuesday.
Heath Hildreth and Steve Jeffries each had three singles for the Bruins with Hildreth driving in two runs and Jeffries one.
Paul DiPasquale had two singles and three RBIs, Kelaen Welch a pair of singles and an RBI, Nick Breen two doubles and Austin Schambach two singles.

Ryan Duke topped the Red Riders with two singles and an RBI with Zac Knuutila adding a single and an RBI and Jeremy Swartzmiller a single.

Beavers down Redskins
MINGO JUNCTION - The Beaver Local baseball team scored six times in the top of the seventh inning Tuesday to beat host Indian Creek, 8-6, at Muth Field.
The Redskins (9-15) face Weir High today at Bowman Field.
Sammy Orr singled and doubled for three RBIs for Indian Creek.
Seth Wilson added a single and an RBI and Alex Young a single and triple.
The Redskins, who had a 4-2 lead from the top of the third inning, committed four errors.

Redskins fall to John Glenn
WINTERSVILLE - The John Glenn softball team scored in the first four innings and went on to beat Indian Creek 9-3 Tuesday at Bantam Ridge Elementary.
The Redskins fell to 17-6 and will visit Bellaire today. John Glenn is 16-9.
Brey Mays ripped four singles, good for an RBI, for Indian Creek. Megan Markja added a double and an RBI and Paige DeMattio a single and an RBI.
Abby Orr, Beckah Mazar, Paige Geanangel and Keasha Barz all singled for the Redskins, who also committed four errors.
Ashley Starr took the loss.

Toronto blitzes Oak Glen
NEW CUMBERLAND - The Toronto softball team rolled to an 11-2 six-inning win at Oak Glen Tuesday for its fifth straight victory.
Cari Horne had another strong outing on the rubber for the Red Knights, striking out nine with only one free pass to pick up the win. Kayla Brown had three singles and three RBIs and Shane Sears had two singles and two RBIs to lead the Toronto offensive attack. Becca Schaming added a double and a single.
Oak Glen received doubles from Tia Smith and Casey Patterson. Ashley Pryor had two singles.
Toronto (12-9) travels to Connotton Valley today in regular season action while Oak Glen is also in action, taking on Weir in a West Virginia Class AA Region 1, Section 1 doubleheader.

Royals get a win
MORGANTOWN - The Jefferson County Christian baseball team hit the road and defeated Morgantown Trinity Monday, 18-10. Matthew Townsend was the winning pitcher with a save from Christopher Brown.
Wes Seabright ripped a grand slam in the top of the fifth inning for the Royals. Brown added two triples and Derrick Ward had one.
Singles were contributed by Townsend, Bo Johnson and Garrison Mathison. Mike Shaw added an RBI.

WHEELING - The Linsly softball team received a no hitter from Sarah Johnson while stroking 11 hits of its own in an 8-0 home win over Jefferson County Christian School Tuesday.
