Peggy Barki, Rhonda Stubbs, executive director of A Child's Place Court-Appointed Special Advocate; and Paula Welch are preparing for a card party Sunday to benefit A Child's Place Court-Appointed Special Advoate program, which trains volunteers to represent the interests of children involved in abuse and neglect cases in Brooke and Hancock counties.
Barki and Welch are members of the Wellsburg Moose Lodge, which is hosting the fundraiser from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and admission is $6 for the event, which will include food and prizes.
A drawing also is being held for a 22-inch flat screen television and microwave oven. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and can be purchased before the event by calling (304) 737-4444. The winner need not be present.
