STEUBENVILLE - The Steubenville Big Red tennis team defeated visiting Weir High, 3-2, Tuesday at Belleview Park.
The three singles matches were won in straight sets.
Weir High's Alex Hannah defeated Michael Nodianos 6-3, 6-4. Big Red won the other two as Aaron Bottegal topped Stephen White 6-1, 6-2 and Harold Malone downs Shane Davis 6-4, 6-1.

The doubles matches were interesting and went the distance.
The Red Riders' Steven Maragos and Matt Barnes nipped Mike Petrides and Brandon Llewellyn 5-7, 7-5, 6-4. Steubenville's Hannah Meyer and Tyler Casto slipped past Nick Village and Blake Cassels 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
Knights down Bears twice
WARWOOD - The Wheeling Central tennis teams defeated visiting Oak Glen Tuesday 6-1 (boys) and 4-3 (girls).
The Golden Bears' lone win came in Zach Brown's 8-4 decision over Brett Szeligo.
The other three singles matches had Jacob Myles over Tyler Brown (8-0), Jonathan Haley over Josh Lehman (8-3) and Daniel Lee over Addison Sayre (8-4).
In doubles activity, Mayles and Szeligo topped Brown and Brown, 8-2; Haley and Lee netted an 8-6 win over Lehman and Sayre and Ben Gordon and Billy Teufel defeated Alex Bennett and Joe Mercer, 8-1.
For the girls, Oak Glen's Haley Spurlock nipped Wheeling Central's Brynn Jenkins in the closest match of the afternoon. Spurlock won the tiebreaker 8-6 for a 9-8 win.
The other three singles matches had Natalie Capito over (8-1), Joanna Capito over Solita Krauss (8-0) and Christine Gompers over Abbi Sayre (8-5).
In doubles action, the Golden Bears' Krauss and Spurlock beat Jenkins and Gompers, 8-5, and Lauren Pizzurro and Maddy Hill topped Bianca Saporito and Layla McLaughlin, 8-3. Capito and Capito defeated Crawford and Sayre 8-3.
