TORONTO - The Central softball team proved too much for homestanding Toronto Thursday with a 19-2 five-inning victory.
Pitcher Paige Creamer picked up the win for the Crusaders with Lara Householder pitching a scoreless fifth in relief. Kayla Lloyd led the Crusaders with three singles, a double and four RBIs. Creamer had three doubles and drove in three runs. Micca Mirabella chipped in with three singles, a double and an RBI.
Cari Horne and Mariah Turner each had a single and drove in a run for the Red Knights.
Central is in action again today at Shadyside while Toronto hosts a doubleheader against Martins Ferry Saturday.

MORRISTOWN - The Steubenville Big Red softball team lost a heartbreaker at Union Local 4-3 on a seventh inning walkoff double by the Jets.
Mytia Barker led Big Red with a single and two RBI. Sierra Fields added a double and Christina Archer drove in a run.

MORGANTOWN - The Brooke softball team dropped an 11-3 decision at University Thursday.
Shannon Reardon had two singles and a double, Katie O'Connell had three singles, Kelsey Welsh had two singles, and Courtney Rine had a single for the Bruins. Kaylee Kuchinski took the loss.
Brooke is at Wheeling Central Saurday at noon for a double header.

WEIRTON - The Oak Glen boys tennis team defeated Weir High, 6-1, Thursday at Starvaggi Park.
The Golden Bears swept the singles matches as Tyler Brown beat Alex Hannah and Zach Brown beat Chad Hensley by 8-2 scores. Josh Lehman defeated Stephen White and Addison Sayre defeated Blake Cassels by 8-0 scores.
In doubles play, Brown and Brown beat Hannah and Hensley, 8-5 and Lehman and Sayre beat Steven Maragos and Matt Barnes, 8-2.
Weir's point came when Shane Davis and Nick Village stopped Alex Bennett and Teddy Adkins, 8-4.
Bruins slip past Hawks
MORGANTOWN - The Brooke boys tennis team raised its record to 7-1 with a 4-3 victory over host University Thursday.
The Bruins won two doubles matches as Bruce Kesling and Ryan Mezan beat Ben Paul and Alex Gutierrez, 8-3, and Josh Harrick and Franco Lewis stopped Jimmy Yuan and Brett Atkinson, 8-2.
The Hawks won the No. 1 doubles match as Abe Valenzuela and Jesse Bierer stopped Brian Gialluco and Jackson Carey, 8-3.
In singles action, Valenzuela beat Gialluco 8-2, Carey defeated Bierer 8-2, Paul downed Kesling 8-6 and Mezan defeated Gutierrez 8-2.
Linsly nips Big Red
STEUBENVILLE - The Linsly tennis team nipped Steubenville Big Red, 3-2, Thursday at Belleview Park.
The Cadets won two singles matches as Jose Bird beat Michael Nodianos 6-1, 6-1 and Marcus Saludes defeated Harold Malone 7-5, 6-2. Big Red's Aaron Bottegal blanked Nate Marhefka 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles activity, Linsly's Weston Mead and Nick Kinyanjuri beat Brandon Llewellyn and Michael Petrides 6-0, 6-1 and Big Red's Tyler Casto and Josh Fordham beat Fernando Zavaka and Justin Kim 6-3, 6-1.
FUS softball loses
GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Franciscan University of Steubenville softball team dropped two 10-0 contests Thursday at the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg.
The Barons totaled just three hits on the day.
FUS?is 0-16 and visits D'Youville College Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
