David Eafrati

EAFRATI, David S. "Fritz", 49, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. Born Feb. 7, 1963, in Weirton, he was the son of Angeline Silverio Eafrati of Weirton and the late Sylvio "Hen" Eafrati who died in 2002. He was also preceded in death by his sister Karen Sue Eafrati.

David was a 1981 graduate of Weir High School. For the last 13 years, Fritz was a dedicated employee of Eat N Park in Weirton, where he took care of the endless salad buffet. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye, Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. David was a very talented photographer. One of his greatest pastimes was enjoying a great meal.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Eafrati is survived by his wife Linda Barkley Eafrati of Weirton, whom he married Oct. 18, 1998; daughters Carrie (Rick) Scheetz of Weirton, Lori (Fred) Monroe of Lancaster, Ohio, and Tracy (George) Hanifin of Kingsport, Tenn.; brother John (Chris) Eafrati of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; grandsons Bryan (Michelle) Monroe, Anthony Hardwick, Thomas Scheetz, George Hanifin II, his little buddy David Scheetz and Cameron Hanifin; granddaughters Jodi Monroe, Cierra (Ryan) Kemper, Mercedes Hanifin and Bristol Hanifin; seven great-grandchildren and his cat, Charlie.

Visitation will be held Saturday 6-8 p.m. and Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, W.Va. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
