STEUBENVILLE -- city Council will consider an ordinance Tuesday to sign a lease agreement with Hess Ohio Development for oil and gas well drilling rights at the city's former landfill site near the Jefferson Airpark.

Legislation authorizing City Manager Cathy Davison to advertise for bids for the University Boulevard storm sewer improvement project and for work at the city's wastewater treatment plant was introduced Tuesday night.

Both projects were proposed as emergency legislation by Sixth Ward Councilman David Lalich.

A resolution in support of the Jefferson County Local Government Innovation Fund Project was proposed by Councilman at-large Kenny Davis.

And Fourth Ward Councilwoman Angela Suggs introduced a resolution proclaiming March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month during the brief sunshine meeting.
