Brooke loses to University
MORGANTOWN - The Brooke boys basketball team traveled to Morgantown and was handed a 54-44 loss Friday at the hands of University.
Brooke's Nick Breen led all scorers with 19, including knocking down four shots from behind the three-point arc. Russell Schwertfeger chipped in with nine points.
Brooke is in action again Tuesday at Weir.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE - The St. Clairsville boys basketball team turned a six-point lead after eight minutes into a 45-24 lead at halftime during Friday's 74-47 win over visiting Harrison Central.
Dan Monteroso led the winners with a game-high 28 points. Riley Carlton added 18 points and Jerrid Marhefka 12. St. Clairsville is 14-2. It will visit Steubenville Big Red Monday.
Nick Pelegreen scored a team-high 24 points for the Huskies, who fell to 12-4. Fletcher Watt added 10.

Royals win two games
WEIRTON - The Jefferson County Christian girls and boys basketball teams swept American Spirit Academy Friday at the Millsop Community Center.
The Lady Royals outscored the Lady Warriors 19-1 in the third quarter en route to a 43-29 victory.
Fairynne Mathison led the winners with 10 points. Meadow Jackson added eight and Lani Moro six.
Sam Blystone paced the Lady Warriors with 12 points.
The JCCS boys outscored American Spirit Academy in each quarter for a 38-30 win.
Wesley Seabright paced the Royals with 12 points. Garrison Mathison added 11 points, Bo Johnson seven and Matt Townsend six.
Will Martin led the Warriors with nine points. Jesse Smith and Corey Ours had eight each.
Both the Royals teams are 11-8.
Richmond to hold registration
RICHMOND - The Richmond Baseball/Softball Association will have sign-ups from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Feb. 21 and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 3 at the Richmond Lighthouse Church.
