New early literacy computers at the Schiappa branch of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County have been upgraded with the educational computers for children offering new touch screen capability.

The early literacy computers are for children age 2 to 8 and have 56 educational software programs. They combine classic titles and characters to a wide range of educational programs that touch all curriculum subjects such as reading, music, math and art.

Each library branch has the computers available for children.

The Schiappa branch upgraded the literacy computers with new ones that feature mouse ability and touch-screen functionality.

"Each branch has had nothing but positive feedback about the computers from kids and parents alike since we first turned them on," said Linda Stuller, children's coordinator and branch manager.
