STEUBENVILLE - The Civil Service now is reviewing employee job descriptions from four city departments and will meet next week to discuss proposed changes.

Commission President Delores Wiggins said five other city departments have not yet submitted proposed changes to job descriptions for review.

"We will review the proposed job description changes we have so far and will meet again next week to discuss the documents. Then we will start meeting with the department heads to discuss updating the job descriptions. Some of the current job descriptions haven't been updated for at least 20 years," explained Wiggins during the nearly hour-long meeting.

In other matters, the commission learned the city health department will advertise for two part-time registered nurse positions.

"In the past resumes have been submitted to the city health commissioner, and the health commissioner has conducted the candidate interviews. We would like to continue that practice," Health Commissioner Patty Reda told the commission in a letter dated Monday.

The commission agreed Reda should advertise for the two part-time jobs and interview the applicants.
