To the editor:
On Oct. 30, my subdivision, Sunrise Terrace in Mingo Junction, had a separate trick-or-treat night. It was really enjoyable for all our children and my grandchildren. It was so much easier for us to visit with neighborhood children. Our little ones weren't so afraid of older children and there was not so much congestion in our streets.
We who participated have been belittled and called snobs and told that we are hurting the feelings of other children and that we should be ashamed of our selves - we are proud and, we also gave the same 400 or so candy bars out the next night so we hurt no child.
My husband and I will continue to do so. We who chose more safety for our little ones are proud that we did this, and I hope it continues every year from now on.
