WHEELING - WesBanco Trust and Investment Services has announced six promotions within its Wheeling division.
David Ellwood and Deborah Ferdon have been named executive vice presidents; Steve Kellas, senior vice president; Robert Becerra and Bill Wagner, vice president; and Tom Farnsworth, senior investment officer.
Ellwood, a chartered financial analyst, is executive vice president and manager of trust investments. In his new role, he will assist in the overall management of the investment function of WesBanco Trust and Investment Services. Ellwood has 27 years of experience in managing investment portfolios. Together with Jerry Schmitt, he co-manages the WesMark Funds family of mutual funds and is responsible for investment research and portfolio management for the Funds.
A graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University, Ellwood has been a Chartered Financial Analyst since 1988.
Ferdon, a certified financial planner, is executive vice president of compliance and trust investments. She has been employed in the financial services industry for 38 years, the last seven of which have been with WesBanco Trust and Investment Services, serving as chief compliance officer for the trust department and WesBanco Investment Department, a registered investment adviser, as well as the WesMark Funds. Ferdon is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable banking and securities laws, rules and regulations. She is a registered principal for WesBanco Securities Inc., providing supervisory oversight of certain registered representatives of WesBanco's brokerage affiliate.
Ferdon attended college in St. Petersburg, Fla., with a major in languages and later completed the certified financial planner certification program through the College for Financial Planning, obtaining her CFP certification.
Kellas, a chartered financial analyst, is senior vice president - investments. A 17-year member of the investment management team for WesBanco, Kellas is portfolio manager for the WesMark West Virginia Municipal Bond Fund. He is responsible for portfolio management, market analysis and security selection for the investment department.
Kellas is a graduate of West Liberty University and has a master's in business administration from Wheeling Jesuit University.
He has been a chartered financial analyst since 2005.
Becerra, a 12-year veteran of WesBanco's investment department, has been named vice president and senior investment officer. He is responsible for institutional and individual portfolio management and is an investment analyst for the WesMark Funds.
A graduate of Ohio State University, Becerra holds several securities licenses.
Wagner, named vice president and senior personal trust officer, is responsible for personal trust administration and estate administration. A 20-year member of the trust administration division for WesBanco, he has been a certified trust and financial adviser since 1999.
Wagner is a graduate of Miami University of Ohio, and a graduate of the Midwest Trust School and the American Bankers National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University.
Farnsworth, promoted to senior investment officer, is a 13-year member of the investment management team for WesBanco. He is responsible for institutional and individual portfolio management and is an investment analyst for the WesMark Funds.
Farnsworth is a graduate of Marietta College and maintains multiple securities licenses.
