'Word of God(ess)' exhibit at Andy Warhol Museum
PITTSBURGH - The Andy Warhol Museum will be hosting its newest exhibition, the "Word of God(ess): Chitra Ganesh," beginning Saturday through Sept. 4.
The exhibit will combine different visual language, canons and cultures, including comic books, Bollywood cinema and iconic goddesses from Hindu folklore.
The artist Ganesh creates cross cultural narratives about sexuality and power that sit in comic book frames where interior thoughts are revealed in bubbles or hover in psychedelic space with three-dimensional elements.
The exhibition includes artworks based on comics Ganesh read as a youth. This exhibition is the third in the Word of God series. The Andy Warhol Museum is at 117 Sandusky St. For information, call (412) 237-8300 or go to www.warhol.org.

STEUBENVILLE - Upcoming events at Historic Fort Steuben include:
Monday through July 15 - A week-long program for fourth- to sixth-graders is educational as well as fun. This year the fort has added a surveying activity, which provided a greater insight into the trials men endured during the period of the fort.
Also included are presentations by American Indians, Baron von Steuben, the archaeologist and flintknapper and thorough tours of the fort and land office. For information, call (740) 283-17871.
Gifts, books, toys, post cards, maps, hats, mugs and more can be found in the Fort Steuben Museum Shop. The shop stocks local, hand-made items as well as traditional souvenirs. Unique items for sale include aprons, miniature pottery and wooden toys, all made by folks from nearby communities.

Yoga classes at Fort Steuben Mall
STEUBENVILLE - Certified group fitness Instructor Rob Bucey will host yoga classes at Fort Steuben Mall.
Bucey will hold strength and tone, pilates and yoga fusion classes at 9:15 a.m. and 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Tai chi, qigong and yoga fusion classes will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9:15 a.m. Fridays.
A mat or towel to use during the classes and consulting of a health care provider before beginning the program is recommended. The classes are free to attend, and donations are appreciated.

Parcel Players at Towngate Theatre
WHEELING - Parcel Players, Oglebay Institute's summer youth theater program, will present two plays at Towngate Theatre in July.
William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" will be staged July 13-16. "Law & Order: Fairy Tale Unit," staged July 27-30, is sure to delight younger audience members. The 2011 season will close Aug. 10-13 with "The Diary of Anne Frank."
Parcel Players stage three productions each summer. The program offers young people interested in theater the chance to act, direct, design sets and work with costumes and lighting.
Curtain time is at 7 p.m. for all shows.

A Touch of Thai at Stifel Fine Arts Center, Wheeling
WHEELING - A Touch of Thai will feature a buffet of authentic Thai dishes from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Stifel Fine Arts Center.

Farmers' culinary event at Stifel
WHEELING - Oglebay Institute teams up with local farmers and chefs to present the Farm to Table Culinary Tasting Event, set from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m Aug. 21 at the Stifel Center.
Guests will enjoy tent hopping to tasting sweet and savory dishes, all of which will be prepared onsite from locally grown food.
The event is presented in partnership with West Virginia Northern Community College, Ohio Valley Farmers' Market and Wheeling Farmers' Market.
Tickets are $15 and $10 for children age 10 and younger and can be purchased at the Stifel Center, Ohio Valley Farmers' Market and Wheeling Farmers' Market.
Summer History Days set at Mansion Museum
WHEELING - Summer History Days at the Mansion and Glass Museums will offer children ages 6-12 the chance to interact with the museum's collections and exhibits, learn the process of glassmaking, play games and discover the area's rich local history.
The museums' staff members guide different activities each day themed around the "In Their Wake: Wheeling" and the "Steamboat Revolution" exhibits.
Camps run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a fee of $20 per day. Afternoons are spent at Oglebay's outdoor pool, and children are required to bring their own lunch.

Weirton Players holding auditions for 'The Glass Slipper'
WEIRTON -The Weirton Community Players will be holding auditions for " The Return of the Glass Slipper,"a twist on "Cinderella," from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and Friday at Drama Direct Studios, 3520 Pennsylvania Ave. All ages are needed, including men, woman, teenagers and children. Those auditioning should bring a song and a two-minute monologue . The players will be hosting new events into fall and winter beginning this month with camps featuring cheering, musical theater, drama, voice and art.
