Summer help sought
FOLLANSBEE - Applications for summer help for the Follansbee Park and pool may be obtained from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Follansbee City Building, 872 Main St.
Positions available are: park manager, supervisors, lifeguards, maintenance and cashiers.
The park manager must be a certified pool operator.
Lifeguards must submit proof of their certification with application.
Completed applications should be submitted to City Manager John DeStefano no later than 5 p.m. April 6. The city may reject any or all applications.
Reunion committee to meet
FOLLANSBEE - The Brooke High School Class of 1986 reunion committee will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in council chambers of the Follansbee City Building.

Pancake breakfast set for today
COLLIERS - The Colliers Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will hold a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. today at the fire hall.
The cost is $5, which includes sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee or juice, waffles or all-you-can-eat pancakes.
Lent services announced
WELLSBURG - The Wellsburg Ministerium has announced community lenten services to be held at several local churches.
Begun Wednesday at St. John Catholic Church, the services will continue at 7 p.m. on the following dates:
Thursday at Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church, 1340 Washington Pike.
March 24 at New Day Christian Center, 2640 Pleasant Ave.
March 31 at Wellsburg First Baptist Church, 18th and Charles streets.
April 7 at Wellsburg Presbyterian Church, 901 Charles St.
April 14 at Christ Episcopal Church, 1014 Main St.

WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Public Library's crocheting class will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Led by Linda Collett, the class is open to anyone interested in crocheting, beginners or experts, and help is available. Call (304) 737-1551 to register for the free program.
Worker appreciation luncheon set
FOLLANSBEE - Mayor Tony Paesano has proclaimed March 17 as Follansbee Worker Appreciation Day and will provide lunch for city employees, police, volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day at the Follansbee Community House.
Computer class offered
FOLLANSBEE - A course in computer basics for beginners will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Follansbee Branch Library.

Widely known singer to
FOLLANSBEE - Gospel and country singer Denis Chapman will perform during Sunday's 10:30 a.m. worship service at Follansbee United Methodist Church, 1002 Virginia Ave.
Chapman has recorded more than 25 albums and has had several nationally charted songs, with a new song currently aired on Christian radio stations in the U.S. and Canada.
Named a West Virginia Ambassador of Music in 1982 and Distinguished West Virginian in 1993, he also is known for his dramatic interpretations of poems, stories and Bible verses.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Golf, pool pass discounts offered
WELLSBURG - As spring approaches, Brooke Hills Park is offering a 20-percent discount on passes to its 18-hole par 3 golf course and scenic, 18-hole miniature golf course.
A $10 discount also is being offered on individual and family pool passes for the summer season.
The discounts are available in March only.
