Radio Disney's "Get Active Get Fit" school challenge recently made a stop at Wintersville Elementary School.
The school was one of 20 out of more than 180 schools in Ohio to receive a dance party after charting pupils' exercise over a month's time.
The program also is sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield and was implemented in the fall to further the commitment to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle among Ohio's school children.
This is the second year the school has won a party. The pupils at the Buchanan and Bantam Ridge campuses spend 15 minutes every morning stretching and exercising before classes.
This is a fun and interesting way for the pupils to see the great effect exercising can have on one's life, and starting the pupils young will hopefully only strengthen their excitement for living a healthy lifestyle in the future.
Hats off the Radio Disney and Anthem for hosting such a wonderful program and to the administrators of Wintersville Elementary for encouraging their pupils to live a healthy and long life.
