WELLSBURG - Nicole Marie Shields and Russell Alan Fithyan were united in marriage on July 24 at St. Andrews by the Bay in Annapolis, Md., with the Rev. Martin Burnham officiating.
The bride was escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her parents, Rick and Lynn Thomas of Arnold, Md.
The groom is the son of Ernie and Teresa Fithyan of Wellsburg.
Sarah Fellers, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Deb Jorge, Diane Krzywicki, Ang Mazur, Laurie Young, Lynn Milke, Lisa Mentor and Michelle Thomas, cousin of the bride.
Eric Fithyan, brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Randy Beers, Tim Brady, Regis Ryan and brothers of the bride, Richie, Kyle and Christopher Thomas.
The bride is a graduate of Millersville University in Lancaster, Pa., with a bachelor's degree in early childhood and elementary education.
She is employed at Fairland Elementary School in Silver Spring, Md., as a kindergarten teacher.
The groom is a graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in public relations and marketing.
He is employed with the Sherwin-Williams Co. in the Washington, D.C., market.
After a dinner reception at the Sheraton in Annapolis, the couple honeymooned at Ka'anapali, Hawaii.
They live in Laurel, Md.
