CANONSBURG, Pa. - Michelle Anderson and John Wertelet were united in marriage on Sept. 11 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Codori officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Gerald and Cindy Anderson of Weirton, and the groom is the son of Harry and Ruth Ann Wertelet of Pittsburgh.
The bride wore a white satin, v-neck ball gown with a chapel train. She was escorted to the altar by her father.
Lida Roberts served as the matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Serena Wertelet, sister of the groom, and Kelly Dollins Anderson, sister-in-law of the bride.
Jason Wertelet, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Chris Collins and Michael Anderson, brother of the bride.
The flower girl was Savannah Wertelet, niece of the groom, and the ringbearer was Hunter Guiddy, cousin of the bride.
The bride is a 1998 graduate of Weir High School, a 2002 graduate of Washington and Jefferson College with a degree in biology and a 2005 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. In 2006, she completed her residency in pediatric optometry and binocular vision at the University of Alabama of Birmingham School of Optometry. She is employed as an optometrist at Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
The groom is a 1991 graduate of Conneaut Valley High School, a 1995 graduate of Duquesne University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration and a 1998 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law. He is employed as an attorney at Eckert, Seamons and Cherin in Pittsburgh.
A reception was held at the Quicksilver Golf Club in McDonald, Pa.
The couple took an earlier honeymoon trip to Tanzania, Africa.
They will reside in Canonsburg.
