FOLLANSBEE - Michelle Shonkwiler and Matthew Campbell were united in marriage on Aug. 7 at the Hooverson Heights Church of Christ in Follansbee. The 3:30 p.m. ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Daniel Cooper.
The bride was escorted by her son, Perry Shonkwiler.
The parents of the bride are the late Philip and Delores Derby. The parents of the groom are the late Harry and Carol Campbell.
The bride wore a white chiffon A-line gown with a cathedral train. She carried a waterfall bouquet of white and red roses.
Brenda Derby of Weirton, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Vicki Strapazzon of New Cumberland, sister of the bride, served at matron of honor. Carol Thompson of Follansbee, Sandra Campbell of Eldersville and Jessica Derby of Weirton all served as bridesmaids. Haley Strapazzon of Weirton was the flower girl.
Harry Campbell of Eldersville, brother of the groom, served as best man.
Rodney Smail of Follansbee, Brian Beatty of Follansbee, Brian Ritchie of Follansbee and Tim Feiock of Wheeling served as groomsmen. Harry Campbell of Eldersville, nephew of the groom, served as ring bearer.
The bride is a graduate of Weirton High School and is employed as a resident assistant at the Wyngate of Weirton.
The groom is a graduate of Burgettstown Junior-Senior High School and is employed as a paramedic crew chief at Weirton Ambulance and Rescue Squad in Weirton.
After the reception at Wellsburg Banquet Center, the newlyweds honeymooned at Myrtle Beach, S.C. They reside in Follansbee.
