"The Villa Royale and its sister facility, the Villa Vista, offer skilled and intermediate care with emphasis on restorative care and therapies, including speech, occupational and physical therapy," said owner Joseph Lancia.
A grand opening and open house will be held on Wednesday, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Lancia Nursing Homes was founded in 1949 by his father and mother, Guirino and Catherine Lancia. Joseph and his wife, Linda, are the second generation in charge of the business, and their sons, Giuseppe and Guirino are the third generation.
Joseph Lancia said the new facility is allowing changes at the Villa Royale building, which opened in 1972.
"The campus setting allows us to offer mainly private rooms for our clients," Lancia said. The transition at the older of the two buildings is under way, with rooms being converted to having private accommodations and showers for residents.
The campus also has an assisted living wing and provisions for respite care and temporary stays, as well, Lancia said. New therapy equipment added to the campus includes whirlpool equipment.
A coffee shop has been opened for the comfort of the residents, including an on-site bakery making fresh items for residents.
The Villa Vista adds 30,000 square feet to the campus, and a small expansion is planned for the near future.
Lancia noted the Lancia Nursing Homes are among a few that are family owned and operated in the industry.
"It speaks well of America that three generations of a family have been in the same business," he said. "And in our industry, if you're putting your parent or loved one somewhere, you can expect a certain peace of mind in dealing with a family-owned company."
In addition to the campus on Sinclair Avenue, the Lancia Nursing Homes include Lancia Belmont Manor in St. Clairsville.
