YOUNG, Mary A., 85, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010, at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, Ohio.

She was born Jan. 5, 1925, in Mingo Junction, a daughter of the late Dominic and Maria Diorio Falcone Sauro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Young on Aug. 31, 1970; two brothers, Nicholas Falcone and Daniel J. "Brownie" Falcone; and a sister, Rose Lint.

Mary was a site manager for 17 years from the Senior Citizens Nutrition Program of the Jefferson County Community Action Council. She was a 25-year member and past officer for the Mingo Democratic Women's Club. She was a Jefferson County Democratic Committeeman for many years. She was a 10- year member of the Mingo Community Days Committee; a member of the Mingo American Legion Auxiliary, Post 351; and a member of the Mingo Senior Citizens Center. She was also affiliated with St. Agnes Catholic Church.

Surviving are four sons, Tommy (Jean) Dimmit of Mingo, Rick (Kathy) Young of Lompoc, Calif., Billy (Sherry) Young of Mingo, and Chuck Young of Steubenville; two daughters, Cathy (Robert) Burdge of Hopedale, Ohio and Lynn Magyar of Mingo; a brother, Joseph Sauro of Columbus; nine grandchildren, Rob (Karey) Burdge, Billy (Amber) Young, Erine Burdge, Benjamin Young, Ricky Young, Casey Magyar, Jenny Magyar, Kyle Young and Kelly Burdge; four great-grandchildren, Rylie, Adam, and Josey Burdge and Billy Young; and two great-grandchildren on the way.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo. On Wednesday, Mary will lay in state from 10 a.m., until the time of her funeral liturgy with Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, celebrant.

Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Mingo.

There will be a vigil service on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
