Serving the area with respect and integrity for almost a century

STEUBENVILLE - For almost a century, Mosti Funeral Home has been guided by two very important principles: Respect and integrity for clients.

Now in its 93rd year, Mosti Funeral Home is proud of its well-earned reputation of caring, personal service and dedication to serving the families of the local area in the same manner, said owner Donald Mosti.

"Our mission is to serve families at their difficult time by providing professional, well-organized, quality personal services at a moderate price," Mosti said. "A family's customs, whether traditional or non-traditional, religious or non-religious, we will ensure the family's wishes will be honored. The staff at Mosti Funeral Home seek to ease families through this difficult decision making process."

In 2009, Mosti Funeral Home Inc. was invited to be the exclusive Certified Veterans and Family Memorial Care Provider in Jefferson County. More than 800 exclusive Veterans and Family Care Providers in 45 states participated.

"When it comes to honoring veterans, no other provider comes close to our level of dedication and commitment," Mosti said. "We do all we can to recognize, honor and pay due respect to those who have served our country. We understand that to each veteran and each of their family members, it couldn't be more personal."

According to Mosti, a USMC veteran, an eye-opening statistic published by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization is that 50,000 veterans die each month, which represents 28 percent of all deaths in the United States.

"These funeral homes have been selected for their high business standards and integrity. Each firm's owner has demonstrated a willingness and commitment to reach out to veterans and their families by extending benefits and savings beyond those provided by the VA," he noted.

The funeral home is also participating in the community outreach program, Cell Phones for Soldiers, and is a drop-off site for used cell phones that are donated and turned into a cellular company that pays the program for each phone, enough to provide an hour of free talk time to soldiers abroad.

Mosti Funeral Home Inc. is a modern full-service funeral home serving families of all faiths and traditions from two locations downtown at 321 S. Fourth St. and at the Sunset Chapel at 4435 Sunset Blvd.

The funeral home offers traditional funerals, cremations with viewing and funeral services, direct cremations, preneed funeral planning and funding, cemetery monuments, pet cremations and a full line of pet urns, caskets and memorialization products.

Donald Mosti has been a licensed embalmer and funeral director for 59 years. He holds licensure in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. His son, David Mosti, has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer for 28 years and is also licensed in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Both directors are active in the community and service organizations. The funeral home holds membership in the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, the Belmont County Funeral Directors Association and the Ohio Embalmers Association.

Donald and David would like to thank the families that have entrusted the funeral home with the care of their loved ones over the years. The caring and compassionate staff at Mosti Funeral Home is available to answer any questions concerning funerals, costs and preplanning 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
