By MARK LAW, staff writer
POSTED: July 2, 2009

STEUBENVILLE - A Wintersville man who threatened a judge and a city man who spit blood on an officer were among the 12 people indicted by the Jefferson County grand jury on Wednesday.

Christopher S. Zrinyi, 36, of 307 Frostview Ave., Wintersville, was indicted on one count of retaliation.

Zrinyi on April 25 threatened Jefferson County Common Pleas Judge Joseph Bruzzese Jr. at a city restaurant. Bruzzese was the judge on a domestic case and civil protection order involving Zrinyi.

Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Christopher Becker was appointed as a special prosecutor in the case. Ted Schneiderman, a retired Summit County common pleas judge, was appointed as a visiting judge to hear the case.

Scott A. Gilmore, 37, of 731 Oxford Blvd. was indicted on single counts of assault on a police officer and violation of a protection order. City Police were called to a parking lot on University Boulevard on May 12 about a man trying to force a female into a vehicle. An officer put Gilmore in the back of a cruiser while he talked to the female victim, police reported. The woman said there was a protection order against Gilmore. Police then put Gilmore in the back of another cruiser and Gilmore slammed his head off the glass partition in the back of the cruiser, causing a cut on his forehead, police reported. Gilmore then spat blood on an officer, police reported.

The grand jury also returned an indictment against Richard Porco, 29, of 118 Williams St., Tiltonsville, on two counts of receiving stolen property. Porco stole $28,000 in cash from a home in Tiltonsville in September 1999, said Jefferson County Prosecutor Thomas Straus. Straus said Porco began living a lavish lifestyle, which caught the eye of Tiltonsville Police. Police questioned Porco about the theft and filed charges, Straus said.

The grand jury also returned the following indictments:

Brian L. Sullivan, 41, of 316 Garden Drive, Wintersville, felony operating a vehicle under the influence.

Oscar D. Scott, 30, of Warren, drug trafficking, with a school specification.

Juvis Montgomery, 34, of Cleveland, two counts of aggravated possession of drugs and one count of tampering with evidence. Montgomery was stopped by the Jefferson County Drug Task Force on May 20 on state Route 7 at University Boulevard and was in possession of crack cocaine and ecstasy.

Charles L. Zonker Jr., 37, of Apartment 5, 305 Walden Ave., Tiltonsville, misdemeanor domestic violence.

David R. Ellison, 56, of Knox Township Road 241, Toronto, single counts of receiving stolen property and obstruction of justice.

Lester C. Cole, 43, of 1532 Euclid Ave., felonious assault.

Kareem Carlock, 33, of 1432 Oak Grove Ave., felony domestic violence and misdemeanor violation of a protection order.

Robert M. Valle II, 21, of 340 Bantam Ridge Road, Wintersville, drug trafficking.

Connie L. Valle, 53, of 90 Burbank Drive, Bloomingdale, single counts of possession of drugs and tampering with evidence.
