New lights

Jerry Barilla of the Historic Fort Steuben spent several hours in the cold Thursday placing new solar power Christmas lights on the wrought iron fence that surrounds the Historic Fort Steuben Park. He was assisted by Beth Wood, executive director of the Steubenville Convention and Visitors Bureau. The park will be the site of the city’s light-up night event set for 5 p.m. Tuesday. Barilla carefully positioned a solar panel to catch sunlight to power the new lights.
